The most economical option for buying the food we raise. Available from approximately mid-May to early October. DELIVERIES: All orders are collected until Wednesday, and we make deliveries on Thursdays. ON-FARM PICK UPS: All orders are collected until Friday, and we prepare your boxes for you to pick up here at the farm on Saturday morning (during the 8am-12pm window). We cram as much as we can into the box with a minimum value of $20, although we love to share the bounty and surpass that whenever we can. We try to include favorites such as carrots, beets, lettuce, and kale as often as possible alongside interesting specialty crops (i.e. sunchokes, squash blossoms) and season-specific favorites (i.e. snow peas, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini, melons) when they are available. When we have a surplus we may also include bread, jams & jellies, or chicken eggs.
Weekly Farm Box
In a traditional CSA model, the customers have to pay the farmers hundreds of dollars upfront, often all at once. While it is helpful for farmers to have that money in the winter when it's time to buy seeds and equipment, there is added pressure on the farmer to deliver on their promise and added risk to the customer who has committed so much money months before the possibility of seeing a product. In addition, sending one big $500+ check is a challenge for many families, and we recognize that it makes traditional CSAs lack accessibility.
Our solution is to offer these CSA-style weekly boxes. We post on social media to remind you to buy a box. All boxes are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. You pay us and reserve your box by Wednesday. We deliver your box on Thursday for a small fee (or you pick it up on Saturday). You set aside the box and ice pack until your next pick up. We pick up the old box and ice pack when we deliver your next box.
If you are someone who loves the idea of getting a variety of produce and other goods, someone who enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, this is a great option for you. If you have a summer vacation planned and need to skip a week, it's no big deal. If you're expecting company and you need extra food, order an extra box. We hope this model will be flexible for both us and you!
