Welcome to Ley Creek Farm's consulting services, where I specialize in empowering farmers at every stage of their journey. With a focus on individualized support, my goal is to help you craft a holistic vision for your farm that aligns with your values, lifestyle, and financial goals. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your existing business, I invite you to explore my tailored options designed to meet your unique needs.
My Consulting Philosophy
As a seasoned educator, coach, and consultant, I understand the vital role of individualized instruction in achieving success. With over a decade of experience in coaching and consulting, I am dedicated to partnering with you to cultivate a holistic farm vision. Together, we’ll consider your lifestyle, boundaries, core values, and financial goals to create a tailored plan that sets you on the path to sustainable success. With a range of consulting options for any budget, my goal is to provide hobbyists, new farmers, and experienced farm professionals alike with the support they need to thrive in the competitive small farm marketplace.
Consulting vs. Coursework: What's the Difference?
While both consulting and coursework have a place in the learning process, my coaching services are designed to provide a personalized, interactive, and empowering experience.
Consulting
Facilitative Approach: The role of a coach or consultant is to facilitate your growth in your individual focus areas. This means that instead of delivering information in a lecture format, I guide you through the farm planning process through critical thinking to help you uncover your own insights and solutions.
Personalized Support: Consulting is tailored to your individual needs and goals, and takes into account the prior knowledge you've already gathered. Together, we can explore your challenges and identify your aspirations, ensuring that our sessions are relevant and applicable.
Collaborative Process: Our relationship is a partnership. I listen, ask thought-provoking questions, and connect you with the resources that best fit your needs. My goal is to empower you to take charge of your learning and decision-making related to your farm business.
Courses
Structured Curriculum: Courses typically follow a set curriculum, the scope and sequence of which is designed to deliver specific knowledge and skills. Courses are teacher-led, where information is presented to students.
Generalized Learning: Courses are excellent resources for gaining foundational knowledge directly from an expert in a lecture-like format. However, it's not guaranteed that they will address your unique context or challenges as an individual farm business.
Less Personal Attention: While some courses are hybrid and include consulting services, many provide limited opportunities for one-on-one interactions. This can reduce the instructor's ability to tailor learning to your specific situation.
